Janice, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) regularly sends an average of P 30,000.00 to P 40,000.00 (Almost a $1,000.00 U.S) a month to support her husband and two children. After several years of working abroad she comes home expecting a loving husband and two healthy children to greet her. Instead she finds her household in disarray, her children not in school for more than a year; her husband living with another woman, no food in the refrigerator, debts piled up at the neighborhood store, no money in the bank and worst their house is about to be foreclosed by the bank. What’s the big deal about “No follow” and why you should disable it ?
From time to time, I do some blog hopping and if I find some good blogs, I try to emulate what they are doing. I have noticed the “U Comment I follow” sign but I never knew what that meant until lately I discovered its importance, so I placed one on this blog. What the “U Comment I follow” sign basically means is that if you place a comment in this blog, hopefully the search engines will follow the author links, or the links on the comments that you placed. This will will result in the commenter hopefully getting a back link as a result of his comments. I used the word “hopefully” since some search engines (like google) say they do not follow the links in the comments. However a test done has revealed otherwise. Others (like yahoo, msn etc.) say they treat the links as if it is any other link. But no matter what, disabling the “No follow” will both be of mutual benefit to the blogger and the visitors of the site. So what is this “No follow” nonsense? The Philippines is one of the hottest destination for business process outsourcing. It just places a little notch lower than the India. A lot of call centers and other business process outsourcing ventures have cropped up all over the country. More than half of the available jobs advertised in the newspapers are business process outsourcing jobs ranging from medical transcription to customer and technical support and legal services among others. Instead of being stagnant because of the dwindling dollar, our export sector has exhibited growth due to business brought about by business process outsourcing. My brother who is our company’s vice president for finance wanted us to join the bandwagon. He was interested in involving our business in the business process outsourcing industry specifically in the call center operations. Years ago I was totally convinced that the internet is a gold mine waiting to be exploited. I did some research until I focused on a certain online money making venture, Blogging. When I began blogging, late November 2007, I was looking for online models both here and abroad. I was looking for bloggers whose footsteps I could follow. I was looking for bloggers who had been successful in what they are doing. I wanted to know how they did it. I came across Sustines E. Laplana’s site through a Sun Star article authored by Janet Toral. I was actually amazed by his blogging success story. Laplana blogs directly from Maasin, Southern Leyete. The Sun Star article said that Laplana’s site proves that “you don’t have to be in Manila or in a big city to succeed at blogging.” I totally agree.
