Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

How to add a “home” button that redirects to your post page in Word Press.

November 25, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

I do not claim to be a Word Press Expert, I am just posting my experiences here in order to help other people who are trying to find solutions or work around on things they would like to achieve on Word press that the standard Word press package does not provide. I am using a great theme by Elena G. of Design Disease. The theme is entitled "Blogging Pro." This is a very cool looking three column theme, so I decided to use it. One of the Problems I encountered with this Word Press is that it has no "Home" button. I wanted a "Home" button that redirects to my post page. By default the opening page of Word press is the post page. I would like my users to be redirected to my post page once they press "home" after they go to my other pages. One of the easier ways to create a home button is to create a new page entitled "Home", that solves the problem about creating a home button but when users click on it they are brought to another page entitled "Home" and not the post page. (The … [Read more...]

Entrepreneurship vs. Employment

November 24, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 5 Comments

Hello all !!! I just recieved this funny email which portrays the benefits of entrepreneurship vs. Employment. Read it and find yourself laughing at the end, however don't forget that the story has a moral lesson. After reading the story, you might stop your job search. Find out more . . . An unemployed man is desperate to support his family of a wife and three kids. He applies for a janitor's job at a large firm and easily passes an aptitude test. The human resources manager tells him, "You will be hired at minimum wage of $5.35 an hour. Let me have your e-mail address so that we can get you in the loop .Our system will automatically e-mail you all the forms and advise you when to start and where to report on your first day."Taken back, the man protests that he is poor and has neither a computer nor an e-mail address. To this the manager replies, "You must understand that to a company like ours that means that you virtually do not exist. Without an e-mail address you can hardly … [Read more...]

A necessary partner in doing internet business

November 23, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

When doing business it is necessary that you have a "partner" bank. I could not imagine what would happen to modern business today without a partner bank. Your bank enables you to store money through accounts, gives you access to a checking facility and of course grant you loans. In online marketing, it is necessary that you should have a "partner bank" in order to succeed. They are not really called "banks" in a strictest sense of the word, but rather they very much perform the same function since they help you store money, and do online business. These "banks" are called online market places. So what do these "online market places" do? In a nutshell it goes like this. Internet marketing is just like any other marketing. You have sellers, you have middle men who sell the seller’s wares and you have buyers. An Online market allows sellers to meet with middlemen. The middlemen in cyberspace are called "affiliates." Online Market places allows the affiliates and the sellers to … [Read more...]

How to be a millionaire even if you are a minimum wage earner

November 23, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

“Robert Reich, once observed ‘most minimum wage workers aren’t poor.’ He is right.” - Johny Isakson, U.S Senator (Robert Reich is former U.S department of Labor Secretary) Minimum wage earners keep complaining about their salary. They say they cannot retire rich. Most of them just go through their work and retire relying only on their small pension and the little retirement that their company will be giving them. For most minimum wage earners, becoming a millionaire when they retire is quite an impossible dream. They contend that they can only be a millionaire if they receive a hefty sum of retirement money from their company. Is it really possible to achieve millionaire status by your own efforts alone ? (Humanly speaking) Let us consider this actually scenario. In the Philippines, Central Visayas Region, the current minimum wage is P 241.00. Multiply it by 26 days of work you get P 6,266.00. Let’s just say that you are 30 years old and you faithfully saved that P … [Read more...]

The Magic of the Rule of 72

November 22, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 3 Comments

“The most powerful force in the universe is compound interest” – Albert Einstein. Albert Einstein’s greatest discovery was not the theory of relativity, it was the Rule of 72. (Although some people say that the rule existed long before he was born, most would agree however that he has popularized it) What has the Rule of 72 have to do with investing? Basically knowledge of the Rule of 72 is the basic building block of learning that each budding investor should have. Simply stated the Rule of 72 helps you determine the following: 1.) What interest rate you should avail of in order for your money to double quickly. 2.) How many years does it take for your money to double. In a nutshell the Rule of 72 is stated as follows: 72 divided by interest rate return = No. of years it takes for your money to double. So, if you put P 100,000.00 in a bank account, it will take 72 years for your money to become P 200,000.00 since the bank only … [Read more...]
