Congressman Manny Pacquiao delivers his first privilege speech in Congress

September 20, 2010 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Emmanuel “Manny” Dapidran Pacquiao or more popularly known as Manny Pacquiao is probably the most sensational figure to emerge this last decade not only in Philippine history but worldwide.

His fame and fortune has been primarily derived from boxing. Pacquiao has accomplished so much in the world of boxing, Aside from being a seven-division world champion, he is the first boxer in history to win nine world titles in seven different weight division. Further he is the first boxer in history to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.

Being just in his 30s, Pacquiao has truly accomplished so much what most people couldn’t even accomplish in their entire lifetime.

Nevertheless despite having becoming so rich and having accomplished so much in boxing, Pacquiao continues to make himself useful to society by investing his money in businesses giving the good people of General Santos and the province of Sarangani job opportunities.

His recent foray into politics has been met with a lot of opposition. Most people say that he is better off focusing in boxing than entering in politics. Others oppose him because they belittle his lack of educational qualification to become an effective Congressman. I myself agree to some extent regarding this matter. Well one good thing about being a congressman as compared to being a boxer is that you don’t get to take punches. (Only verbal punches LOL) So definitely no need for bigger life insurance quotes !

However the one characteristic that Pacquiao has that separates him from most people is his humbleness and his willingness to learn. Pacquiao is also very gutsy and does not seem to care what the critics say. If Pacquiao maintains this kind of attitude there is no doubt that he will succeed in what ever he does.

Watch this youtube video by Congressman Manny Paqcuiao delivering his first privilege speech in the halls of the Philippine Congress. While some traditional politicians who have become lawmakers and who do not seem to have what it takes to be in Congress have been dubbed as being members of the “silent committee”, Congressman Manny Pacquiao waste no time in proving to his critics that they are wrong.

Mabuhay ka Congressman Manny Pacquiao !
