Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

How to Create a DIY Contract of Lease: A Quick Guide

November 27, 2024 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

As early as last year, there has been widespread discussion on the internet about artificial intelligence potentially replacing lawyers and even judges. Honestly, I’m no longer surprised. Many jobs are already being taken over by robots, and it’s only a matter of time before this becomes reality. In light of this, I’ve decided to shift careers by enrolling in a bachelor’s degree in computer science and sharing all my “lawyering” secrets. Kidding aside, even without artificial intelligence, the internet has, in many ways, been replacing lawyers. Instead of visiting a lawyer’s office for advice, many people simply turn to a Google search. Technology is truly transforming numerous industries and professions. One of the most common legal topics people search for online is legal forms. Documents like contracts, affidavits, and other legal forms can now be easily downloaded from the internet. So, is that it? Just download a lease contract online, and you’re done? Kidding again! … [Read more...]

What happened to your Christmas gifts and bonuses?

January 29, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Last Christmas, we probably received cash as gifts from some of our wealthier or purportedly wealthy relatives. Some have received a substantial amount, while others may have received a relatively small amount of money. Others may have received big bonuses or Christmas incentives. So what happened to the money that you received? Did you spend all of it already? Are you still keeping it under your mattress? Are you planning to buy some gifts with your Christmas bonuses ?  Here are some ideas ways on what to do with that money. 1.) Put your money in the bank – Contrary to what most people think, banks are not only a place where you could keep your money safe. Banks offer several ways wherein you can make your money grow. Savings account only offers small interest rates. Time deposits on the other hand offer a higher interest rate. Time deposits however are sort “long term investments” since you cannot withdraw your money for a long period of time. This will however give you a … [Read more...]

Would you have invested with the skinny little geek?

January 25, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 1 Comment

Would you have invested with the skinny little geek? Sometime last week, my Dad asked me to attend a multi-level marketing seminar involving Voice Over Internet Protocol (V.O.I.P) products. He wanted to attend the seminar personally but he asked me to attend the seminar primarily for two reasons first he had another meeting to attend and secondly, he just did not understand what the product is all about. (This also goes for all other “hi-tech” products) So I reluctantly attended the seminar. An American gave the presentation. He was very eloquent and convincing. The product was equally good as well. But what really intrigued me was the sales pitch he made when asked he people to join the multi-level marketing company. He told us that Microsoft is one of the richest and one of the most successful company in the world. The company is currently worth more than $ 200 Billion dollars. If these guys would come knocking at your door, you wouldn’t hesitate to give them your … [Read more...]

The Top 10 Richest Filipino of 2007

December 7, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 1 Comment

About the early part of the last quarter of this year, FORBES ASIA released their list of the Top 40 Richest people in the Philippines. We are given a glimpse as to who holds about 80 to 90 % of our nation’s wealth. However in comparison to the entire region, the Filipino richest are actually the “poorest” among its Southeast Asian neighbors. Compared to others in the same region, the Riches Filipino combined together had the smallest net worth, ($16 billion) the fewest number of billionaires (only three) and the lowest minimum net worth ($25 million) Nevertheless these Filipinos are the envy of their countrymen. Others look up to them as their inspiration. It is interesting to note that only a handful of them have inherited their wealth. Most of them started from the bottom and worked their way up until they became what they are today. Take note all of them are entrepreneurs and none made it to the top 10 list by just remaining an employee. Inspire to be an entrepreneur, take … [Read more...]

Blue Ocean Strategy . . . The future trend of Business strategy ?

November 29, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 8 Comments

I was in Star Bucks Club Ultima this afternoon to talk with an acquaintance  regarding a new business that he is planning to start. One of the things that he mentioned was this unique business strategy that’s quite different from what we traditionally learn in business school. According to him, this strategy sorts of deviates from normal business concepts that we hear and read from the usual management gurus. This strategy is called “Blue Ocean Strategy” I was intrigued by the idea so I did a little bit of research on the subject. Blue Ocean Strategy is a corporate strategy that aims to tap unclaimed markets making competition irrelevant. The strategy is embodied in the book entitled “Blue Ocean Strategy” by Professors W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne and Published by Harvard Business School Press. The authors claim that the Blue Ocean Strategy is a result of several years of study of strategic moves by over 30 industries in a span of 100 years. In the book, “Blue Ocean” refers … [Read more...]
