"The best way to save money is not to lose it." --Les Williams Let’s take a break from our stock market series and talk about money saving tips. A lot of websites and blog now offers money saving tips and this blog may be probably one among the thousands. Its one thing to talk about how to save money it is another thing to actually do it. Taking action may probably be the hardest between both. I do not claim to be the best when it comes to saving money, but I do have some trick up my sleeves. Here is some money saving tips that I have personally experienced and applied throughout the years, hope this will be a blessing to you: 1.) Be electric consumption conscious – Simply monitoring your electricity could save you a lot of money. This involves turning of appliances and lights that are not in use. Shifting to energy saving light bulbs will definitely help. We turn off our electric water dispenser and our refrigerator during the night time. (The coldness already stored in … [Read more...]

Jun Lozada
Jun Lozada – Hero or Hypocrite? In my Business and economic forecast for 2008, I initially predicted that there will be no huge political mudslinging that will have an impact in the economy. I was wrong. The Philippines is at it again! Calls for the President to step down have once again gained momentum on charges of alleged corruption as a result of the ZTE-NBN broadband deal. However in my opinion I don’t think this will succeed for several reasons. I will tackle that in another post. Since the start of the ZTE-NBN broadband deal controversy the name “Jun Lozada” has become so popular. In fact most webmasters and bloggers, would probably start exploiting the key word “Jun Lozada” right now considering that it is a high-trend, low-dense keyword. For those of you who do not know what a “high-trend but low-dense keyword,” by high trend we mean that a search for a certain keyword has been searched by a lot of people. You can know this if you go to google.com/trends. Type the … [Read more...]
Blog review: A one of a kind blog – MUSIC PICKS
Without music life would be a mistake. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche I may not agree with Nietzche’s atheistic philosophies but I definitely agree that life without music is a mistake. Life without music is definitely a mistake because music is the only language that every human being knows how to speak. It is often called as the “Universal language.” Words may be powerful as it may stir up the emotions of its readers, but it is only music that touches the human soul. The wonders of music still cannot be fully scientifically explained. How can arrangements of sounds have such an impact in our innermost being? It is still a wonder that certain arrangement of sounds will somehow dictate our feelings. This certainly is still a mystery that confounds all of us. Eric Anderson aptly says this about music, "It is only by introducing the young to great literature, drama and music, and to the excitement of great science that we open to them the possibilities that lie within the … [Read more...]
OBSERVATION ON THE 1980 PHILIPPINE BAR EXAMINATIONS – Full report
The following are excerpts from the actual reports of the 1980 Bar Examiners submitted to, and released to the law schools by, Madam Justice Ameurfina Melencio-Hererra, Chairperson of the 1980 Committee on Bar Examinations. I have already made a summary of this report and has posted it in this blog in the post entitled “How to pass the Philippine bar exams.” However I believe that law students and law professors will gain more by reading the full report. Although this report was made more than 27 years ago, the lessons that can be gleaned are timeless and can still very much apply to those who will be taking the Philippine bar exams. This report is also useful for law professors and law schools as this will help us re-evaluate our teaching methods in order to effectively help our students hurdle the hardest exam in the Philippines, the bar exams. The report starts out with these interesting observations: 1. With a relatively few notable exceptions, I observed a deficiency in the … [Read more...]
