Mother's day is officially Sunday, May 11, 2008. We celebrated it yesterday here in the Philippines. But the celebrations are not yet over since in the United States and in some parts of the globe; they are still celebrating mother's day. (Because of the time difference) However there are some countries that celebrate mother's day on a different date. That's because of the concept of "mother's day" has several origins. According to Wikipedia, it is said that mother's day originated during the ancient times of the Greeks and the Romans. The Greeks held a festival to Cybele, a great mother of Greek gods sometime from March 15 to 18. The ancient Romans are said to have some sort of mother's day celebration called "Matronalia" dedicated to Juno. It is this day that mothers were usually given gifts. Its summer right now in the Philippines and people are traveling a lot. In the next few months it will be summer in the United States. Summer spells vacation time for a lot of people since classes are out and the weather is perfect. The following are my tips in order that you might make the best out of your vacation: 1.) Make travel plans – The best way to make the most out of your travel is to iron out your travel plans. In today's information technology age it is impossible for you not to get information on any destination you are planning to go to. Aside from helping you map out where you are going or what side trips you will be taking, planning also helps you save on travel expenses since unnecessary trips and unnecessary expenses will be minimized if not eliminated. Can your cat bring you good fortune?

When I was a little boy I had a cat named “Mouser.” Mouser was named after the cat in the story “Dick Whittington's Cat” In the story the cat’s name was “Puss” but the name “Mouser” was taken from the line in the story where the little girl that sold him the cat told him that the cat is an “excellent mouser.” The story is quite interesting and is a must read for all cat lovers. It is a story about how a boy found fortune through his cat. The story is loosely based on the life of the famous Sir Richard Whittington (1354–1423), a medieval merchant, Lord Mayor of London and a Member of Parliament. Most of the details of the story are fictional except for the part that the character’s family name is Whittington and the name of the character’s wife is the same as that of Sir Richard Whittington’s wife (Alice Whittington) and that Dick Whittington was elected as mayor thrice. Watch a movie at the bridge of the Enterprise

Now I’m sure Star Trek buffs like me will enjoy this. How would you like your home theater to look like this? Now that’s what some people call “Where no home theater has ever gone before !” Gary Reighn started working on this Enterprise bridge inspired home theater in 2002. The entire set up cost $15,000.00 (U.S) and consist of a Sony 720p LCD projector, a 7.1 audio set up by Polk, a Yamaha receiver, and a Philips Pronto remote to control the whole set up. Gary and his son calls it "The Bridge home theater." I’ve always dreamed of having my own home theater someday. Perhaps I will use the bridge of the U.S.S Voyager as the motif for my home theater.
