Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

November 15, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Boxing aficionados are once again in for a treat this coming Saturday, November 22, 2008 (Sunday in the Philippines) when Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton squares of with Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi. The delayed telecast will be broadcasted in the Philippine local channel, ABS-CBN. However I am sure that people will be all over the internet looking for a more up to date Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton vs. Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi youtube video or a streaming video of the fight. I am not very familiar with Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi . (Add to the fact that his family name is not very easy to remember) However a quick search in the internet reveals that he has an impressive 25-1-0 record. The veteran Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton is quite a familiar face. He has more experience than Malignaggi and holds a very impressive 45-1-0 record. He is quite familiar with the Philippine crowd as our very own Manny Pacquiao is rumored to be matched against him sometime in the future. I think this … [Read more...]

My 2008 U.S elections experience

November 14, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 4 Comments

It was a cool sunny day in Sun Valley, California where I started to line up to vote in the U.S elections. People were starting to line up to cast their vote. I was number 30 on the line sandwiched between an African-American woman who read a book while waiting for the queue and a blonde who kept on calling her cell phone. Poooooffff! I was just day dreaming. Seriously, I never lined up to vote in California. I wish I did, but I couldn’t because I was in Cebu City, Philippines when it all happened. Despite the distance, technology has somehow made a way to let me feel the euphoria of the U.S elections. The Cebu Blogger’s society through the efforts of Political blogger Kevin Ray Chua got invited to observe the U.S elections. I woke up early since I have to have my annual physical checkup courtesy of my insurer, Philam Life. (They want to make sure that they won’t loose money so they keep on checking my health condition regularly hehehehe?) After spending an hour or more at … [Read more...]

2007 Bar exam passers are bogus lawyers?

November 12, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 8 Comments

I stumbled across an interesting topic in the Southwestern University (SWU) Cebu City Philippines, School of Law alumni association friendster group. The topic in the discussion board I am referring to is the one which reads “2007 Bar exam Passers are BOGUS lawyers.” I opened the post and it contained a link to a forum wherein an argument was made on why the 2007 Bar exam passers are BOGUS lawyers. I posted a reply in the SWU Alumni Association friendster group and argued why I think he is wrong in concluding that the 2007 bar exam passers are bogus lawyers. Perhaps he said this because he forgot to take his mental health medication but instead took Diet pills that work fast hehehehe. Anyway Here is my response: I am sorry to say that the one who wrote the argument that the "2007 Bar exam Passers are BOGUS lawyers" is a complete idiot. For the record I am not a 2007 bar exam passer. (I passed the 2006 bar) His major premise is that "Under the Rules of Court, a bar … [Read more...]
