Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Pinoy expat in Singapore reveals Guerilla Blogger is banned there

April 14, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 7 Comments

Recently, I heard a complaint from a Pinoy expat in Singapore that he cannot access my blog there. Curious, I asked him if he tried using another browser. He said he tried other browsers in different computers but he still could not gain access to my blog. I asked him what was the error message on the browser, but he forgot what it was, so we just forgot about it. He mentioned that it could not have been the internet connection since Singapore is a highly wired City state and that Wifi hotspots abound in the place. Well, we forgot about it until some time later at dinner he told us about life as a Pinoy expat in Singapore. According to him, life in Singapore is kind of lonely. Singapore may be organized and disciplined. The buildings are well maintained and the living there is like living availing of Outer Banks rentals. It is  much more of a 1st world country compared to its 3rd world Asian neighbors but life there is dull compared to our colorful life here in the … [Read more...]

A Change in my life Acapella, Lyrics and youtube video

April 12, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

I first heard the song “A Change in my life” in the movie “Leap of Faith” starring Steve Martin who played the role of “Jonas Nightingale,” a fraudulent “Christian” faith healer whose story is somehow taken from the a page of every modern day televangelist whose money making ministries bears a striking similarity to the fictional Jonas Nightingale. Sadly, I didn't get to watch the movie in HDTV. Well as much as I am tempted to write a stinging commentary regarding these modern day prophet of profits, I will reserve that for another post, for now I will just talk about the song “A Change in my life” By the way if you haven’t watched “Leap of Faith" click here to get it at my Guerilla blogger eStore. In the movie, the song “A change in my life” was sung by “The Angels of mercy” which in my opinion did a great job in singing the song as well as other songs. I don’t know if there is a real singing group “Angels of mercy,” but they did a fantastic job as Jonas Nightingale’s … [Read more...]

What’s wrong with the Purpose Driven Life

April 10, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 7 Comments

The Purpose Driven Life has not doubt left a mark on 21st Century Evangelical Christianity. In a 2005 Survey conducted by George Barna, American pastors, leaders and ministers point out that it is one of the books that have influenced their ministries greatly. Wikipedia cites that it is “arguably one of the best-selling non-fiction” because of the fact that it has been “on the New York Times Best wholesaler Seller list for advice books for one of the longest periods in history. “ To date, more than 30 million copies of the book has been sold. In a nutshell, the Purpose Driven Life takes readers to a 40-day personal spiritual journey. The general outline of the book is that it presents God's five purposes for man here on earth. I used to have a copy of the book and I have read it from cover to cover. I forgot where I placed it. Recently a friend mentioned that she wanted to give me a copy of the book, she said that they are coming out with a new edition. Later on she discovered … [Read more...]
