Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

The corruption of Christmas

December 24, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Christmas is supposed to be a time of celebration. That is why we greet each other a “Merry Christmas.” Although it is cannot be established that Christ was indeed born on December as I pointed out in my previous post “Should Christians celebrate Christmas” what is important is that we acknowledge the fact that Christ was born more than 2000 years ago and we celebrate such fact during Christmas. I am sorry if I will be writing about something that is not so merry this Christmas. I will not be talking about how Christmas has been corrupted by the fact that we have placed more emphasized on Santa and his elves, Frosty the Snow Man or Rudolph (not that any of these are bad) instead of placing Christ in the center of Christmas. I will be talking about the blatant corruption and disregard of our graft and corruption law committed during Christmas time. No business can exist without doing any kind of transaction with the government. As a business person it is common knowledge in the … [Read more...]

Making an electronic media kit

December 23, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Recently I was contacted by 3 potential advertisers for this site. One of them asked for a media kit. I had no idea what a media kit was so I googled to try to find out what it is all about. According to ehow.com, a media kit, otherwise known as a “press kit” is “a package of news and background information that is distributed to members of the media to build buzz about your product, service or event. The information in this kit will help give a reporter story ideas.” So basically a media kit is just a marketing tool that will help market your product or service. This marketing tool is directed towards the press. An electronic media kit is of course just a media kit in electronic format, usually a .pdf file. This is much cheaper, cheaper of course than cheap auto insurance,  as you can just email it. Try checking out the web, you will see that most media organizations have electronic media kits. Several sites gives ideas on how to make a media kit just try googling it. For my … [Read more...]

Tiger Woods infidelity scandal saddens Hitler

December 13, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

The internet is bustling about the Tiger Woods infidelity scandal for the past few days. People has been searching for anything related to the Tiger Woods infidelity Scandal and anything related to it such as “Tiger woods infidelity,” “tiger woods mistress photo.” I’m even surprised to see that topping the “hot topic” is “tiger woods Gillette” I was wondering what that is all about. Well it seems that corporate sponsors like Gillette are phasing out Tiger Wood’s ads because of the recent scandals that has rocked the star golfer. Fans were saddened by the recent unfolding of events and critics made their worst remarks. I cannot imagine how this has affected Tiger’s wife and his children. Tiger Woods is currently going on an Outer Banks vacation rental after what happened.  Surprisingly, even Adolph Hitler was saddened by the recent events that rocked his favorite athlete.  :-) It seems that the scandal has inspired a lot of youtube videos, both spoofs and mini-documentaries of the … [Read more...]

Guerilla blogger gives lecture on blogging at Southwestern University

December 9, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 3 Comments

I mentioned in my post entitled “I’m back” that I will be giving a lecture on blogging this December. It went along as scheduled. I was given 45 minutes to speak about the topic “Blogging as a business option” this morning December 9, 2009 10 a.m. at the Southwestern University, Cebu City, AVR-3 Main building. I was happy to be invited to lecture on the subject considering also that I am an alumnus of Southwestern University; I did not hesitate to respond positively to the invitation. Too bad I didn’t bring along somebody with me to take pictures of the event. ( I noticed somebody snapping pictures of the event, so if somebody could please email me the picture J) I wish that I have brought an audio recorder in order fulfillment that I could share what I discussed. Anyway I will be featuring the power point presentation instead at the end of the post. Because of the shortness of time given I only gave an “Introduction” to the subject of blogging specifically on blogging as a business … [Read more...]
