The 2011 bar exams is a very historic exam as this will be first time, after several decades of bar exams in the country, wherein major changes has been implemented. The game plan or battle strategy that has been followed by bar examinees for decades need to revised if not changed because of the “major major” changes in the bar exams. As you all probably know already, about 60 % of the exam will be multiple choice questions while 40 % will be trail memorandum writing. Those taking the bar exams are very unfamiliar with this format as these were just announced late last year. And during that time those taking the bar this year was still busy preparing for the graduation so there was little time or no time at all to prepare for these changes. Hence law schools and review centers are now scampering to prepare their students on how to effectively slay this yet to be seen beast. Before these changes, going to regular bar review and last minute review seems to be only an option, but now I … [Read more...]
Watch DEEP GOLD! Support a world class Cebu, Philippines made film!
DEEP GOLD is a 2011 action film shot in the beautiful islands of Cebu and Palawan, Philippines. The film is produced by Bigfoot Entertainment and directed by Big Foot owner and founder Michael Gleissner. (A German entrepreneur, director, actor, photographer and musician who is now a Filipino citizen himself) The film features 3D visual effects, explosive action, daring underwater photography and international model-actresses. I learned about this film almost 5 years ago when it was still in the process of being made. Two of my managers had knowledge about this film. One of them whose hobby was photography and video making took a short course on the subject at the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) an international film school owned by Big Foot located in nearby Mactan Cebu. He mentioned to me that Big Foot was in the process of making this film. I did not know what the title was at that time. Another manager who used to work at Big Foot studios also told me about … [Read more...]
Aco sy michelle, Facebook scams and how to avoid them
A friend of mine recently disclosed that he has been scammed on Facebook in the amount of P 30,000.00. He transacted with a certain person whose Facebook name is “Aco sy michelle.” He has done a lot of online transactions before and after doing preliminary business in Facebook, he usually meets in person to finalize the transaction. It is only in the meeting when items and cash changes hands. The item was indeed very tempting. It was for a Canon 60D camera which was only sold for P 30,000.00. (Usually this sells for close to P 60,000) However instead of going about his usual protocol, my friend decided to send the money. Afterwards he was given an LBC tracking number. He was alarmed when the item did not arrive on the day it was suppose to arrive. So he tried calling up the person but her mobile number could not be reached anymore. He tried messaging her in Facebook, but the Facebook page was already deactivated. The seller was gone with the wind and so was his P30,000.00. My friend … [Read more...]
The perfect ab exercise – The Plank (planking)
In today’s modern society when you talk about “Planking” every body thinks it’s posting pictures in Facebook while making out a crazy position. No, I’m not talking about planking the fad. (Or commonly known as the lying down game) I’m talking about the original Planking or “The Plank” which is a very effective yet neglected form of exercise. The Plank is also known as the front hold, hover, or abdominal bridge. It is an isometric core strength exercise that involves maintaining a difficult position for extended periods of time. It has several variations. The most common of which is the front plank. Other variations include the side plank and reverse plank. The most common plank is the front plank which is held in a push-up position with the body's weight borne on forearms, elbows, and toes. The front plank is done by doing push-up position and holding the position for as long as you can with the body's weight borne on forearms, elbows, and toes. This type of exercise strengthens the … [Read more...]
How to get water out of your ear
Recently I enjoyed a trip with my family and friends at Kawasan Falls in Badian Cebu. I really love traveling and if I have the time and resources I would love to do more of it. Yet going places and enjoying life has some of its consequences. When I enjoyed the nice cool waters of Kawasan falls I got water in my ear and it wouldn’t come out. It’s such a pain to have water stuck in your ears for several days. I’d rather be configuring a bluetooth barcode scanner than have water stuck in my ear. But anyway I am stuck with the problem. I got advice ranging from the most ludicrous and insane to the most practical. Some people said I should fill my ears with warm water swing my head to the other side and then jump and down with my head tilted to one side draining water from my year. Others said to gargle some water, get the gargled water out and place it in my ear then tilt my head to let the water out. None of the advices worked. So I searched the internet, and I found some practical … [Read more...]
