Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

The future of reading . . .The Amazon Kindle

December 1, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 4 Comments

For several centuries now, technology has advanced so much. We have conquered the moon, telegrams are almost obsolete, everybody is getting more connected through the internet and advances in telecommunications. However there are some things that have not changed through the years, one of those things is the way we read, we still read with printed pages. In the late part of this century, several changes were attempted to change the way we read. Books in electronic formats began circulating through the internet. However only a few devices were produced that were considered as a permanent substitute to change the way we read. All of this is about to change right now. Online retailer giant, Amazon have one such device that could permanently change the way we read and will most likely become a substitute to the paper based materials that we are used to. The frustrated interior designer

December 1, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 7 Comments

I’m a person with many interests and one of the things that I truly love to pursue is interior design. I may not have a formal education on it but I think I have a natural ability for it. Since last year, we had been renovating our house. By now its about to be done. the painters are just doing little finishing touches. I wanted to show you all how our house looks like. Because of the multiple and contrasting colors that I use, some people say that our house looks like Jollibee. But I believe that this truly unique color combination is not so common to be found. When most people use colors they only use 1 color and when they do use variation they only use the same color in it’s light or darker mode. (For example if they use blue, then the variation would be dark or light blue) Our house may not be big and elegant but with a little color and some interior design, I believe I’ve managed to turn it into something truly unique. So in order to show you what I mean I’ll give you a 3 … [Read more...]

Blue Ocean Strategy . . . The future trend of Business strategy ?

November 29, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 8 Comments

I was in Star Bucks Club Ultima this afternoon to talk with an acquaintance  regarding a new business that he is planning to start. One of the things that he mentioned was this unique business strategy that’s quite different from what we traditionally learn in business school. According to him, this strategy sorts of deviates from normal business concepts that we hear and read from the usual management gurus. This strategy is called “Blue Ocean Strategy” I was intrigued by the idea so I did a little bit of research on the subject. Blue Ocean Strategy is a corporate strategy that aims to tap unclaimed markets making competition irrelevant. The strategy is embodied in the book entitled “Blue Ocean Strategy” by Professors W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne and Published by Harvard Business School Press. The authors claim that the Blue Ocean Strategy is a result of several years of study of strategic moves by over 30 industries in a span of 100 years. In the book, “Blue Ocean” refers … [Read more...]
