Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

God’s response to atheist bus advertising

February 9, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 4 Comments

Atheist in London has raised £135,000+ (Close to $200,000.00 U.S) to engage in an active bus advertising campaign. About 800 buses all over England were tapped for the bus advertising campaign. Atheist says they not only plan to do it in the United Kingdom but that they will probably continue to spread it around the world. I can’t believe these people, spending so much money on bus advertising discrediting God. What on earth are they trying to achieve? They could have spent the money for other useful purposes to solve other world problems instead. (The only bright side of this is that they let the printers and the bus companies make some money) I heard recently that God decided to give them a taste of their own medicine, so He engaged in His own bus bus advertising campaign. Here it is: Thanks to Marhgil Macuha for giving the url for this “Atheist bus slogan generator.” Want to make your own bus advertising? Click here. Here’s my own bus advertising. Enjoy !!! … [Read more...]

What the Gospel is truly about

January 5, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 1 Comment

Years ago while attending a Baptist Youth Congress, I heard that during the conference, a young man was taught what the gospel is all about by a Bible student. After saying the “sinner's Prayer” the young man was asked by his friends if he was already “saved.” With a look of surprise the young man replied “Saved ?” “Is that what being saved is” To my mind this young man doesn’t have the faintest idea on what the Gospel is truly all about. Unfortunately this scenario is repeated thousands of times every day even in the most orthodox of evangelical circles. The real message of what the Gospel is truly all about has been watered down to a gospel of “easy-believism.” Today most people when presented with this watered down gospel do not understand the commitment involved when one is explained what the Gospel is all about. Nevertheless, God has continued to raise men throughout the centuries to stand firm, steadfast and committed to communicating the truth about what the Gospel is as … [Read more...]

The parable of the old violin

November 1, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

The parable of the old violin is not one of the parables of Jesus. The parable of the old violin is not really the title of this inspirational piece. I decided to name it the "parable of the old violin" to optimize for the keyword "old violin." (Guerilla blogger’s strategy) I just love listening to a violin. Somebody playing a violin piece over portable baby monitors is certainly enough to make a baby sleep. The title of this wonderful poem is “The Touch of the Master's Hand.” This was written by Myra Brooks Welch who is known as the “poet with a singing soul.” This poem about an old violin has been converted into several well known songs known today with the same title. Watch this youtube video on the “parable of the old violin” and learn how the touch of the Master’s hand  could make a difference in the price of the old violin.  Learn also how the touch of the Master's hand could make a difference in your life ! … [Read more...]

The parable of the prodigal son, old story, new twist

October 26, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

The parable of the prodigal son is perhaps one of Jesus most famous parables and probably the best loved parable of all times. The story has found its way in the arts through paintings, stage plays and sculptures. The parable of the prodigal son has also found its way in literature and even popular music. The parable of the prodigal son is found in the Gospel of Luke chapter 15 verses 11 to 32. The story opens with Jesus telling the story of a man who has two sons. The opening statement of verse 11 will indicate to us that the story is about “Two sons” not just about one son. The error most Christians, readers and even some preachers commit when reading the parable of the prodigal son is focusing on the “prodigal son” only hence the story is often called “the parable of the prodigal son” when in reality the story is not about the parable of the prodigal son, but it is a parable of two sons. As I have said before, I have been an ardent supporter of expository preaching which is a … [Read more...]
