Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Working from home

December 27, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Working from home has always been a dream of mine. I’ve always been a home buddy ever since from my youth. Working at home also gives me more time to spend with my family. In as much as I like the idea, I cannot achieve it now since I have a business to run a practice to pursue and several educational options to explore. I see myself as working at home probably about 20 years from now. Nevertheless, I do not want to get behind in the ever fast changing landscape of the internet. I’ve always believed that the internet is the main avenue of working from home. I always see the internet as a gold mine, waiting to be exploited. There are several not to mention hundreds of Filipinos already enjoying the benefits of working from home and earning from the internet. I feel left behind already. But when I compare it with the entire Filipino population, I feel I that I have an advantage. There’s always two ways of looking at a half water of glass, half empty or half full. I prefer the … [Read more...]

One of the gifts I hope I will get for Christmas

December 26, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 3 Comments

It is expected that we will receive gifts during this Christmas season. I just want to share with you one of the gifts that I hope I will receive this Christmas. For this Christmas, I am not hoping for something big like a new car. Nope not those extravagant fancy gifts. My wish is only simple, I hope that Jurists Bar review Center will be coming here to Cebu next year. I’ve always wanted that Jurists Bar review center will be placed here in Cebu at Southwestern University. Jurists Bar review Center has been one of the instruments used by God to help me pass the bar exams. The one on one coaching conducted on how I present my answers in the bar has really made a difference on how I answered in the Bar. The technique in answering has not only helped me in the bar exams. It has helped me a lot even in law practice like in writing position papers, and arguing in court. It has helped me to think logically. I love Jurists so much that I wrote “Top ten reasons why you should enroll at … [Read more...]

The world’s best investment

December 25, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 2 Comments

Today is Christmas day. But my blogging schedule today is financial management and investments. I’ve been thinking lately about what to write on Christmas day, I don’t want to go about the traditional route focusing on Christmas topics (like the Corruption of Christmas or Should Christians celebrate christmas.) I finally found my topic by reconciling my blogging schedule and today’s special holiday. When talking about investments we always want to consider the rate of return. We want to know how much we will be earning per annum. We then compare it with other investments, weigh the risk versus the rewards and make a decision on the matter based on whether the risk involved is compensated by the reward that can be obtained. But what do you think do you think is the best investment in the world? The answer is found in the pages of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible says in Proverbs chapter 19:7, “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given … [Read more...]

Should Christians celebrate Christmas ?

December 23, 2007 by Zigfred Diaz 5 Comments

Today we are going to talk about Christmas. No, we will not be talking about Santa Claus, gifts, reindeers or food or most especially considering the tons of food we have in Christmas,we are going to talk about something important. We are going to answer a very important question, should Christians celebrate Christmas. I read an article the other day somewhere in the internet stating that Christmas is a pagan holiday and that as Christians we should not celebrate Christmas. It is true that pagan festivals were held in the Roman world during the month of December, the most well-known being Saturnalia, which began on December 17 and honored the god Saturn. Saturnalia involved public feasting, gift-giving, and a temporary relaxation of normal social conventions. Other winter celebrations also existed in Roman society, as seasonal festivals were common in many ancient cultures. However, the presence of pagan festivals in December does not by itself establish that Christmas … [Read more...]
