Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Guerilla blogger gives lecture on blogging at Southwestern University

December 9, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 3 Comments

I mentioned in my post entitled “I’m back” that I will be giving a lecture on blogging this December. It went along as scheduled. I was given 45 minutes to speak about the topic “Blogging as a business option” this morning December 9, 2009 10 a.m. at the Southwestern University, Cebu City, AVR-3 Main building. I was happy to be invited to lecture on the subject considering also that I am an alumnus of Southwestern University; I did not hesitate to respond positively to the invitation. Too bad I didn’t bring along somebody with me to take pictures of the event. ( I noticed somebody snapping pictures of the event, so if somebody could please email me the picture J) I wish that I have brought an audio recorder in order fulfillment that I could share what I discussed. Anyway I will be featuring the power point presentation instead at the end of the post. Because of the shortness of time given I only gave an “Introduction” to the subject of blogging specifically on blogging as a business … [Read more...]

I’m back !

November 21, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 4 Comments

After a long blogging hiatus I am finally back to blogging mode ! I can’t believe that I only made one blogging entry for each of my two blogs for the month of October ! What’s worst is that I have not updated my guerilla blogging blog since September. I did however manage to sneak in the “Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto youtube video and live streaming” to take advantage of the traffic. :-) Some of my readers have been asking where I had been. I was very busy indeed wearing my “academic” hat. I was busy preparing exams, checking papers and finalizing grades among other things. Such activities have taken me away from my blogging. I also did not get to beat the self imposed October 2009 deadline of publishing the updated version of our ebook “Guerilla bloggers’ strategy and tactics on how to make cash online.” Now that I am back, I’ll try to do my best to hopefully finish if before the year ends. Worst case scenario is that it will hgh releaser sometime in February next year. I … [Read more...]

Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto youtube video and live streaming

November 14, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Finally the most talked about fight of the year is finally here! Let’s get ready to rumble once again as we await the much awaited Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto youtube video and live streaming Our very own Manny Pacquiao will try to make boxing history by trying to snatch his 7th world boxing title from Miguel Cotto. This fight is also important as most boxing analyst consider this as an indicator on whether Manny Pacquiao is ready to go one step further to face the undisputed best pound for pound Floyd Mayweather Jr. (Still no losses) I also want this to happen because I would really like to see the trash talking Mayweather father and son eat their own words. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has a shining and sterling 49-3-2 record with 39 knockouts. His recent successive victories over legendary fighters like Diaz (not my relative hehehe), Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Larios, Hatton and Dela Hoya made him world famous. As the only Asian boxer to win five world titles in five … [Read more...]

Give back to Society, Train a child

November 6, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz 2 Comments

In a lot of ways my wife and I are opposites. She is more sports minded and likes to think more about ping pong tables while I am the ever perpetual bookworm. I like sports but sports never learned to like me. She likes to be with people while I may look outgoing and very sanguine but deep inside I enjoy solitude and the people I enjoy to be with most are only those within my private circle. I am more investment and business minded. My idea of helping people is teaching them how to fish. On the other hand my wife is more philanthropic. I want to build my own “Berkshire Hathaway” while she wants to build a philanthropic foundation. I am thankful to God that despite our differences, He has managed our individual difference and we have complimented each other. In a way my wife makes up for my weakness and I for hers. Months ago, my wife who is a licensed social worker started a children’s ministry within our compound. I am proud of what she and her staff have accomplished. I do not … [Read more...]

A week of disaster after disaster

October 3, 2009 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

I’ll never forget September 26, 2009 and the week that followed after that. This has been a week of disaster after disaster and the vicious cycle just went on and on. I just couldn’t believe it. I just can’t believe the devastation caused by Typhoon Ondoy last week in Metro Manila. I had been monitoring the news constantly, surfing websites and blogs related to the storm, watching youtube videos on the fury of Ondoy and dropping by the PAGASA website from time to time to monitor incoming storms. I just can’t believe what happened in Metro Manila. Floods went above the garage flooring and reached as high as two storrey houses and even higher in some areas ! An urban planner who got his degree from Harvard said in an Inquirer interview that it’s not an act of God but sin that caused the floods. The sin he was referring to was the sin of omission particularly the sin of not respecting the environment and the sin of the government in not placing the necessary infrastructure to … [Read more...]
