Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Contending for the faith: Apologetics studies online at Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) Academy

February 24, 2015 by Zigfred Diaz 2 Comments

Apologetics is the discipline of defending a position (often religious) through the systematic use of information. I had always been interested in apologetics and my training as a lawyer and my being a pastor has greatly spurred my interest in the subject. It easy to loose one’s one faith especially now that information on almost anything is widely available in the Internet. Attacks on the supremacy of Scripture and on Christianity in general are prevalent and frankly speaking churches seems to be loosing the battle. According to the site gotquestions.org, in a survey conducted by the Barna Group it was found out that less than 1 percent of the young adult population in the United States has a biblical worldview. Even more startling, the data shows that less than one half of one percent of Christians between the ages of 18 and 23 has a biblical worldview. Additionally, two studies conducted by both the Barna Group and USA Today, found that nearly 75 percent of Christian young … [Read more...]

Normally the course schedule is every Saturdays and Sundays but for our batch, which is batch 5, we had lectures for the whole day, Saturday and Sunday and then we had 4 hours of lectures on weekdays from Monday to Friday. My Philippine Postal Services Corporation delayed package delivery experience

March 21, 2014 by Zigfred Diaz 28 Comments

Last year I ordered several books from Amazon. Some of the books were second hand college text books and the sellers of these text books do not do international shipping. So I asked my friend who lives in the United States if I could have it shipped to her address and then she will just ship it to my Philippine address. I asked her to ship it via USPS. (United States Parcel Services) I would have preferred the she ship it via private courier considering that PHILPOST (Philippine Postal Service) will be the one to receive it if it is shipped by USPS and it is known to everyone in the Philippines that PHILPOST is so slow when it comes to delivering mails and packages. But since I ordered more than 15 books and some of these books are quite heavy, I opted to have it shipped via USPS as it was much more cheaper. Besides, I was not in a hurry to receive it. On August 17, 2013 my friend sent the package. I was accustomed to the slowness of Philpost services so I figured out that I will … [Read more...]
