Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Too much politics killed Andres Bonifacio

December 1, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 5 Comments

Yesterday, November 30 we celebrated the birthday of one of our Philippine heroes, Andres Bonifacio. However the holiday was moved to today, December 1 by virtue of the President’s “Holiday economics.” Andres Bonifacio is dubbed as the "Father of the Philippine Revolution." He was one of the main leaders in the Filipino revolution against Spanish rule. Andres Bonifacio founded the Katipunan, an organization whose purposes were to defend the poor and the oppressed, promote good morals and to liberate the Philippines from Spanish rule through taking up arms. Usually, a public holiday is declared to celebrate the death of a hero. However in the case of Andres Bonifacio, it his birth that is being declared a public holiday and not his death. The reason for such is because unlike other heroes who died in the hands of the enemy, Andres Bonifacio died in the hands of his fellow country men. Some historians contend that the death of Andres Bonifacio was a result of the classic “rich … [Read more...]

The financial script of life

December 1, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz Leave a Comment

Have you ever tried seeing a movie by watching the ending first and working your way backwards to the beginning? Sounds weird hugh? But that is exactly what we will be doing now. For most people, sadly their financial script of life ends with the words “Bankrupt” instead of “. . . .and they lived happily ever after” that is, they end up relying on their little social security pension or worse rely on their children to take care of them . So how does an educated middle income individual end up with the words “bankruptcy” written at the end of his script of life? Watch this youtube video on the financial script of life. After the video on the financial script of life, there are other informative videos as well such as the effect of interest rate, the difference between an asset and liability and the types of investor. This youtube video on the financial script of life is courtesy of the International Marketing group (IMG) of which I am a member of. Although I am not a very … [Read more...]

Guerilla Blogging turns 1 !

November 29, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 15 Comments

Last November 27, 2008, zdiaz.com, celebrated its first blog anniversary. I didn’t get to blog about it during that time so I will be giving my “SOMBA” now. (State of my blog address) Unlike other blogs, I am sorry that I will not yet be giving any big prices to celebrate guerilla blogging's first year anniversary. Perhaps I will during next year’s anniversary or how about during this blog’s silver anniversary. (25 years? Whahahahaha !!) All I am giving away now is two 1 hour ISP BONANZA prepaid dial-up internet cards I got for free from Toy Kingdom. To get the card, all you have to do is comment on this post. First person to comment on this post gets the two cards. I had been really reluctant to give this card away considering that most people already have DSL. I don’t know what to do with this prepaid internet card so I might as well give it away. Who knows? You might have a relative or a friend who might who wants this card. (Take note this prepaid internet card can only be … [Read more...]

November 28, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 2 Comments

I’ve added the latest Warren Buffett book to my collection bringing my Warren Buffett book library to a total of 14 books. They say that there are about 200 books on Warren Buffett, so I have 186 more to add to my Warren Buffett book library whahahahha ! ? I have three passions when it comes to collecting items. These are pins, artifacts from another place or culture and you guessed it a Warren Buffett book ! Lately, I had become a fan of Warren Buffett and I have searched far and wide for materials to add to my Warren Buffett book collection. Last month, I wrote a post entitled "How Warren Buffett made me poor."  You might want to check that out. My parents just arrived from the United States and I asked them to bring me some pins and some Warren Buffett books. They brought three with them; those are “The Snowball – Warren Buffett and the business of life” by Alice Shroeder, “Warren Buffett and the interpretation of financial statements” by my favorite Buffetologist, Mary … [Read more...]
