Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Blogger’s networking happening in Cebu on October 23, 2008

October 3, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 10 Comments

For those who do not know anything about blogging, they might picture bloggers to be nerdy geeks spending half of their lives facing the computer and coming out of their basements only when the sun goes down.

Well for the uninformed, Blogging is certainly the “in” thing nowadays. Not only because it sounds cool and sophisticated if you are a blogger, there is big potential to earn income online plus you also get to meet a lot of new friends online and offline.

Well this one event will certainly be another chance to meet new friends offline. This coming October 23, 2008 (Thursday) from 6 to 11 pm, the DigitalFilipino.com Club is organizing a fellowship/networking event where e-commerce industry players and bloggers can catch up and exchange updates. The event will be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, 1st Salinas Drive Lahug, Cebu City.

Bloggers are welcome to attend this event for free. For more information and to be eligible to join the event just post a reply at the Digital Filipino blog. For those who can’t attend, we will just send you holiday photo cards.

I’m glad to know you have a community of bloggers in your area. By the way, I’ve finally created my very own blog: http://www.idaclan.blogspot.com/

The blog is in its infancy. I plan on using your guide to help me earn additional income. With a hectic schedule, I might not be able to allocate the time needed on a regular basis, but hopefully, I’ll have more free time in the future.

I finally established my own blog (http://www.idaclan.blogspot.com). Now, since I’m officially a blogger, do I fit the profile of a geek? There’s certainly nothing wrong with being labeled as a geek. In fact, Bill Gates, is a geek – a very, very, very successful geek.

Iris: Congrats on the new blog ! I’ll be adding you in my blogroll. Welcome to the exciting world of blogging ! Yes ! there are communities of bloggers all over the Philippines now. Mindanao has the strongest community the call themselves “Mindanao bloggers” In fact last September they just organized the first WordPress Camp in Southeast Asia. They got to invite Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress to come over and give a talk. I was there in Manila to attend that event. I will be writing about it soon.

I’m sure there is a blogging community in your area as well. Blogging is not only a great but productive hobby because you will not only be earning income, you will be able to let the whole world know about your ideas and your life ! It’s also a great way to meet new friends both online and offline

By the way, zigfred, reading your bio in your ebook, i think you know a few of my cousins. Most of them graduated from Bob Hughes.
