Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

Beijing Olympics 2008 standing

August 4, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 8 Comments

The Olympics fever is taking the world by storm! It’s been the buzz of news headlines these past days, people are excited to see as their country slug it out to make it on top in the Beijing Olympics 2008 standing.

I admit, this post is primarily to optimize for the keyword “Olympics 2008 standing” A similar keyword in the last Olympics (“Olympics 2004 standing”) received several hits for a couple of days. I am hoping to exploit the keyword “Olympics 2008 standing” which is “short-lit HITLOD keyword” to at least temporarily boost the traffic in this blog.

However, for those of you who are really trying to search for the Olympics 2008 standings I will be posting them here soon. (Update: see the latest Beijing olympics 2008 standings – medal tally below)

In the meantime, enjoy the Olympic fever and don’t worry too much about the Olympics 2008 standing. We cannot blame why people are so concerned about the Olympics 2008 standing considering that the Olympic motto in Latin is “Citius, Altius, Fortius”, which means “Swifter, Higher, Stronger”. (I do hope that the atheletes do not use testosterone booster just to achieve this)  However the big picture of it is that the Olympics is not all about standings. The Olympics is meant to foster friendship between participating countries. This ideal, which was started by of Pierre Frédy, Baron de Coubertin, founder of the International Olympic committee is probably best illustrated in the Olympic creed itself wherein it says:

“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.”

Savor the Olympic moments! While awaiting the Olympics 2008 standing, you might want to enjoy this Olympics teaser youtube video.

Manu: Thanks for the invite, I consider it a really privilege to be invited. Sadly I am based in Cebu so I cannot be there for the Auction.ph B-Day Party this August. However I will be at the WordCamp this September. See you there.

Sadly, many athletes crowned as the “best” have been busted for steroid used. I have no doubt that more than 95% of Olympian participants (males and females) are presently using or have used steroids previously to enhanced their performances.

I was an athlete in high school and have always enjoyed running so my favorite is track & field. I will also watch for swimming, tennis and the weightlifting competitions.
