Welcome polymaths !

Ever get the feeling that you seem to don't know what to do with your life because there are just so many things that you want to do ? I know, I've been there, so welcome to the club.

My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." I've finally embraced who I am and decided to turn my main blog into some sort of guide for people with so much interest. Feel free to poke around.

President Arroyo’s 2008 State of the Nation Address (SONA)

July 27, 2008 by Zigfred Diaz 6 Comments

This coming Monday July 28, 2008, our President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will give his annual State of the Nation Address (SONA). The nation’s attention will once again be focused to the Batasan Complex (Where the house of the representathieves sorry, that is “representatives” holds sessions) at Quezon city, Metro Manila Philippines for this historic event. In the United States the State of the Nation Address is known as the “State of the Union address.”

All systems go for this coming Monday’s State of the Nation Address. Traffic has been re-routed and schools in Quezon City have declared no classes. Security has been beefed up in the area and even the president’s new dress is already prepared. This time President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will be wearing her newly made red Maria Clara terno in piña fiber. While the president will be giving the State of the Nation Address, protestors are planning to do their annual protest hence they are also readying their vintage t shirts, placards and other propaganda materials.

Presidential Management Staff Chief Sec. Serge Remonde earlier stated that the President’s State of the Nation Address would focus on the oil and food crises. According to him the President will “confront the situation and lay down plans how she intends to address the crises” Hopefully this problem will really be addressed by the government and that the solutions outlined is not only confined to the four corners of the pages of the President’s State of the Nation Address.

Giving out the State of the Nation address is not just something that the president wants to do. This is a constitutional duty that the president has to execute as stated in Article VII, Section 23 of the 1987 Constitution.

Before President Arroyo gives out her State of the Nation address, she might want to get some tips from the State of the union address that President Bush made last year. Watch this youtube video and see what tips president Arroyo might be able to get from President Bush. 🙂
