F.A.Q

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)- Questions and answers with the insane blogger behind the site. Luckily when the interview was conducted he was in a state of lucid interval.

1.) What’s with the face lift?

Well as you know, President Corazon Aquino died, so in her honor, I changed my header color to yellow.

Nah, am just kidding. In reality months ago I planned to convert zdiaz.com into a more personal site where I blog about anything under the sun. I realized that I have developed a niche on making cash online through blogging and through stock market investments so I decided to transfer these two topics to two separate niche blogs.

But really, I think the changing of color is just in time of President Cory Aquino’s death.

2.) But you haven’t answered the question?

What question ?

3.) I mean why choose the colors yellow and blue?

Actually, I’ve been fond of those colors before. My favorite color is actually red and blue. But I found out that the coat of arms of the Diaz family way back in the medieval ages was colored yellow and blue so I decided to use that color. I’ve used this color several times. In fact I use it in my office envelopes.

4.) Are you abandoning the “Guerilla blogger” online identity ?

Definitely not ! In fact the “making cash online” blog is called www.guerillablogger.com. I’ve am also using my old theme and logo on that site. The investing in the stock market blog will be revolve on a theme called “guerilla investing.”

5.) What’s with the “guerilla” thing? Are you fond of Che Gueverra or communist idealogy ?

Nope, not really. While I respect their opinion, I remain a firm believer in democracy, capitalism and republicanism.

For me being “guerilla” means being contrary to conventional thinking. It’s my one word for the phrase of “thinking out of the box.” Of course I can’t be the “thinking out of the box blogger” that would be too long to type when I comment on other sites. Also that wouldn’t be a very good name for a domain.

Also I’ve always admired contrarian thinkers. Not because they are deviant from mainstream thinking but because they seem to have a point that most people currently seem not to appreciate. That’s why I follow Warren Buffett in stock market investments because he thinks differently from conventional portfolio management theorist. For blogging I follow John Chow and Marhgil Macuha who are great contrarians from conventional blogging thinking. Remember that the contrarians are the ones who were ridiculed, burned to death, beheaded, assassinated etc. when they first spread their contrarian thoughts. But now they are honored for their being able to think outside the box. Of course I do not expect us to be burned to death for our way of thinking hehehehehe

As for Che Guevera, well, I am not really personally fond of him but his picture makes for a great logo LOL ! Not really, well, Che stands for “The revolution.” We are now in a “revolution” the digital revolution where the playing field is leveled such that the ordinary man can now be able to compete with big advertisement agencies and make money in advertisement through blogs. In the arena of stock market investment, an ordinary person can now compete with big investment houses because so much information is now available online. Che also is the icon for “Guerilla.” I think I’ve gone to great lengths in explaining this in our Guerilla blogging ebook.

6.) With all the hats you are wearing I’m surprised you can still find time to blog

I love blogging. I really do. I love it because God has given me the ability to be good with both  spoken and written words. When I was still in high school I’ve always dreamed to just stay home and work at home. Because of the internet revolution all of this has now become possible. That’s why I love blogging and stock investments because I can just work at home. As of the moment I still report to the mental hospital errr I mean office but probably time will come when I will sort of “semi-retire” and just stay at home or travel.

7.) If you just love just working at home why did you pursue your law studies and become a lawyer?

I must have failed to take my insanity medication during the time I took up law LOL !

Seriously, well I really didn’t know what I was thinking at that time. I was always trying to learn new stuff. I didn’t know what new knowledge I was suppose to try out during that time so I tried law. Well by God’s grace I passed the bar.

Now I am really not a serious practitioner. The reason for such is that sad to say our justice system is really not …. (I don’t want to say it lest I be found violating the Code of professional responsibility) I just forced myself to appear in court just to tell myself that I have tried such and such a case. But I really do not like litigation; it’s too adversarial and too . . . never mind.

I have already handled several cases I’ve won some and lost a few. But really all of these are just for experience purposes. I’ve never considered building a career out of law practice I’d rather be blogging and investing in the stock market.

I like teaching law though, especially commercial laws because of it’s relation to business and the stock market. I also like to teach non-bar subjects. The reason is because some law professor do not take these subjects seriously because they think they are just non-bar subjects. I believe these subjects are important. It is in these subjects that I have time to teach students how to write, think like a lawyer and too appreciate the beauty and philosophy behind the law.

I hope someday I can also be able to teach investing in the stock market to finance and MBA students.

8.) What about running your family owned business, and other businesses what can you say about that?

Well, I thank God for giving us our family business. At first I was reluctant to run it. In fact I wanted to go abroad. My mother persuaded me to stay in the country and run the business.

Honesty at first I didn’t like running it. Not because of the nature of the business (Funerals) but because I wanted to be someplace else. But as time went by I grew attached to it and I sort of liked the challenge in running it.

Nowadays I still don’t like running it, because I have to deal with people and sadly people disappoint. Some are just outright dishonest. There are a few good ones though, but nobody is perfect. So what I do is I train managers to run the business. I spend 80 % of my time developing systems and people. Currently I view myself as sort of a capital allocator.

With regards to other businesses, well I prefer investing in the stock market again because I don’t have to deal with people. However, I currently have one other startup business that I am doing. This will probably be my last. All other future business plans will probably have something to do with the stock market.

9.) Are you really crazy ?

Sometimes, But must of the time I am sane. What do you think ?

10.) Aside from zdiaz.com what other blogsites or websites are you maintaining ?

I have several blogspot sites. I don’t update most of them anymore because I am too lazy to update them, Nah just kidding, I just don’t have the time, I do visit them once in a while so that Google will not delete the sites. :-)

One of my main sites is www.stockmarket-investing.com. This is my main niche site. I just love writing about stock market investing.

I also have our book blogsite which is www.lexparetonotes.blogspot.com. (Soon to be transferred to www.lexparetonotes.zdiaz.com) Recently I have partnered with other bloggers and have started a travel website at www.outravelplanet.com. www.guerillablogger.com will soon be operated in partnership with other bloggers.

11.) You mentioned that you “wear several hats” Aside from blogging what else do you do ?

Aside from blogging, running our family businesses, practicing law a little bit and reporting to the mental hospital (LOLZ!) I  teach law subjects at two universities. I also have some other business interest aside from our core family business.  Recently, I together with my wife started a small community church in our area called ‘The Master’s Community Church.”  You can learn more about it at www.tmcf.zdiaz.com.

Since I consider myself a lifelong learner, I’m finishing my theology studies and my MBA. If I have some spare time, I write books and work on other ideas.

For fun I go skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, rock climbing, fencing, pistol shooting and travel back and forth to the moon. (whahahahaha . . . .Just kiddin :-) )

11.) Any last words ?

What is this an execution?

12.) Can we ask some more questions ?

Sure ! For questions related to a certain blogpost, drop me a comment. For other questions not related to a blogpost, use the contact me form.

I charge $1.00 (U.S) per question irregardless of the length of the answer. I accept paypal, all major credit cards, company checks. No personal checks allowed because I have the unfortunate experience receiving bouncing checks.

hahahaha Just kidding. Seriously, drop me a comment and I’ll be glad to answer your questions if I am sane enough to do so.
