Iris: Congrats on the new blog ! I’ll be adding you in my blogroll. Welcome to the exciting world of blogging ! Yes ! there are communities of bloggers all over the Philippines now. Mindanao has the strongest community the call themselves “Mindanao bloggers” In fact last September they just organized the first WordPress Camp in Southeast Asia. They got to invite Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress to come over and give a talk. I was there in Manila to attend that event. I will be writing about it soon.

I’m sure there is a blogging community in your area as well. Blogging is not only a great but productive hobby because you will not only be earning income, you will be able to let the whole world know about your ideas and your life ! It’s also a great way to meet new friends both online and offline

I finally established my own blog (http://www.idaclan.blogspot.com). Now, since I’m officially a blogger, do I fit the profile of a geek? There’s certainly nothing wrong with being labeled as a geek. In fact, Bill Gates, is a geek – a very, very, very successful geek.
