Losing weight is all about calorie deficit by eating less and increasing your aerobic exercises. 1 pound of fat equals 3,500 calories, which means if your goal is to lose 10 lbs., then you need to burn off 35,000 calories (through a combination of diet and exercise). 

The fastest way for you to take off the weight is cardio - constant body motion with intensity. Walking is sufficient at first when you are trying to get in shape, but after 2 weeks, you should start challenging yourself by running, increasing the speed, the time and distance. Running is literally the most effective way to burn off the fat. For instance, running 5 miles burns 500 calories and even more depending on your weight, which means you need to run 35 miles just to burn off a pound of fat from your body.
