Amen to that, what a fantastic topic for a bend of investment and toadys holiday!

Merry Christmas to you! Here is still it Christmas Eve Day...

I especially appreciate that you pointed out, "that the verse does not say “You are “like” lending to the Lord.” But rather it emphatically states that “You are lending to the Lord.” YOU ARE. Indeed.

In some reverse fashion this leaves me feeling better about myself and my family's Christmas, for we will be having a "no presents" Christmas, and I as the head of the family have had a lengthy illness so that I have not decorated or done any of the things that are expected of my culture's notion of celebrating Christmas. I could see it as a failure to them, but I see instead that we are rich in being together, that we want to be together as a family and enjoy it, and my illness is something that can be expected to heal after surgery (soon) so we are not badly off at all -- what does it matter what the decorations are or the materials things given when it is the Lord's view of what we do that counts?

I originally went into law school with the idea of a "poverty law" practice because I *felt* in my heart of hearts, the scripture you quoted at length. You have given me a fine Christmas present by reminding me of my mission. Really, you have no idea. Thank you.
